Assignment 1

Codeacademy

One thing I learned from Lesson 1: Introduction to HTML on Codeacademy, was how to imbed videos into a webpage and to show an error message is there is ever an issue display said video. The < video > element embeds a video. The src attribute will contain the URL to the video. Adding the controls attribute will display video controls.

Another thing I learned from the lesson is how to create link to connect to another part of the same page. The anchor element < a > is how you do this, the href attribute to get to a certain part of the page, a # followed by the id of the element to link to.

A third thing I learned from the lesson is what a Target Attribute is and how to do it. A target value of _blank will open the hyperlink in a new tab

Creative Director in real life

A person with this job position and very similar positions after holding the creative director position is Michael Griffith. I find this position interesting because you get work in a variety of different programs and areas of design and art. As someone who have a lot a different experience in different area this is what entices me the most. Another aspect of this position that may not apply to all but with jobs a specific advertising and marketing companies is getting to work with more than one company. Giving a variety of work to do and not the same thing all the time.

Final Project

I was thinking of doing my semester project on the Met Gala. I haven't decided if I will be doing a certain year, the overall gala, or multiple years. I think it would be a great way to showcase a variety of things like the clothes, designers, themes, and celebrities that are invited to the gala. The guest list changes each year with a few reoccuring guest, but the people that get invited tell a lot for what was trendy during the host year. Also a random learning experience about why a museum host this event every year and why its known to be so extravagant.
